CROESO I CASA GALESA! x
I have always been a creative and fiercely independent, always 'doing 'my own thing'.
And, as a child, I used to drive my family crazy with my high energy, constant creative, daily mess, forever changing decòr in my room, experimenting in the kitchen and getting into all sorts of trouble on the family farm.
Following education in the creative arts, University life and 15 years of working in Welsh media and education, I realised I was too creative for corporate, had no desire to 'up the ladder' and manage people, carving a false sense of status and authority.
I knew I had to change, and find my true self. And, admittedly it was a painful, long road, but I had to be as honest as possible with myself, finding me true authenticity.
The Big Leap...
It was 2014 when I embarked on my first ever solo trip to Italy, and I signed up for a short cooking course in the Ciociaria -Roman countryside.
And it changed my life.
During that time, I discovered my love for creation, and re discovered my childhood passions. Cooking as a form of creative therapy and interior design.
After many solo - trips to various parts of Italy over the last 15 years, I have gained invaluable confidence, made new friends, learned a new language and understanding of Cucina Povera and how it changed the landscape of Italy during time of war, famine and cultural change.
It blows my mind how this particular cuisine and respect for real food has reached such global influence and, introspectively looking at my own understanding of real food history and traditions in Wales - adre, my home.
I have embarked on an unique journey, and I am eager for CASA GALESA to be a warm and friendly digital community -an interesting space for those of you looking for something a little different.

'The pandemic changed my life and I suffered a great deal of personal loss. I have now realised importance of embracing 'little things in life' - especially embracing the romance of 'solo cooking'.
CASA GALESA has given me the confidence to visit farmers markets more often, buying the right seasonal food. I have developed a new passion for cooking, and I love being part of this special community.

'I went travelling 10 years ago, and during that time, my life changed quickly after falling for. my now American husband,. We both live and work in the US and our days are busy. Originally from West Wales, I deeply miss the lush green, rolling hills and the seasonal life that's quite challenging to re-create here in New York. But, Casa Galesa has helped us to deal with my 'hiraeth' in simple, lovely ways - without breaking the bank!'
Thank you Casa Galesa!
